Our TTC Timeline

This is just a quick peak into what we’ve done so far to try and have a family…

  • April 2013 – On an Easter trip with our family we decided we wanted to start our own!
  • April 2013-April 2014 – Tried to conceive naturally.  Went to the doctor who told me because of my age to wait a year before coming back.
  • April 2014- Returned to my OB-GYN.  Diagnosed with PCOS.  Tubes are clear.  SA comes back above average for my husband.  Start on Clomid.  Fail to ovulate on 50mg of Clomid.
  • May 2014 – Up my dose of Clomid to 100mg.  Finally ovulate for the first time in a year.  Shockingly we get pregnant!
  • June 2014 – Miscarried at 6 weeks
  • July 2014 – Take a break after miscarriage
  • August 2014 – Clomid 100mg, fail to ovulate
  • September 2014 – Clomid 100mg, positive ovulation.  No pregnancy.
  • October 2014 – My OB-GYN tells me to take a month off due to a large cyst on my ovary.  She also recommends I move to an RE.  We had our first consult with our RE the day afterwards and she does an ultrasound and determines the cyst is small enough to continue with a cycle of Femara.  Femara 2.5mg.  Positive Ovulation, No pregnancy.
  • November 2014 – Femara 2.5mg.  Positive Ovulation, No pregnancy.
  • December 2014 – Up Femara dose to 5mg in hopes of multiple eggs.  Add in IUI.  IUI with two eggs and great numbers for husband, still no pregnancy.  Everyone on earth but me announces their pregnancy in a cute little facebook photo.  Decide I hate Facebook and all pregnant women 😉
  • January 2015 – Decide that this will be our last month of IUI.  Femara 5mg.  Two eggs.  IUI.  Had a WTF appointment with our RE.  Decide to proceed with IVF next month.  Kiss $30,000 goodbye :).
  • January 2015 – miracle bfp after final IUI. Crushed when our betas did not double in 4 days time. Betas should double every 48 hours. Mine didn’t even double in 96 hours.
  • Beta 1 – 115 on January 22
  • Beta 2 – 215 on January 26
  • Beta 3 – 560 on January 28
  • Beta 4 – 1300
  • Miracle upon miracle after bleeding we went in for an emergency ultrasound and see a gestational sac and fetal pole
  • On February  12th we saw the first heartbeat of our baby.
  • My miracle baby boy, Duke, was born in September at 37 weeks.
